Abstract

In excitable cells, like neurons and muscle cells, the voltage gated sodium channels are responsible for the rising phase of the action potential. Given this unique role, the family of voltage gated sodium channels have been hotly pursued drug discovery targets with one of the key challenges being sub-type specificity. In this webinar we will show how the IonFlux Automated Patch Clamp system can advance your sodium channel discovery programs by simplifying pharmacology experiments via continuous perfusion and synchronous experiment execution.

What will be discussed:

  • Giga-seal (single cell) and ensemble recording configurations
  • Biophysical properties of channel dynamics
  • Setting up a use-dependent protocol
  • Representative pharmacology from different sub-types
